Chanukiah – Meowukiah from plasticine. Chanukah crafts

During Jewish Festival of Lights, Chanukah, we light up candles in special candle holders called Chanukiahs. Chanukiahs come in all kinds of designs, shapes and colors. That is why we will make our own unique Chanukiah. To be more specific, it is going to be a Meowukiah, since our Chanukiah will take a shape of a cat.

It is very endearing when readers send me photos featuring the book Curly Orli, or when they would like to take a picture with me. My heart still skips a bit when someone asks me for an autograph. My specials thanks go to Chinese community for supporting my project. I am so grateful for your love, dear readers. I really appreciate it. Truly yours, Lagoonca, Curly Orli’s mom.

Happy Passover! Create Your Own Clay Camel

Happy Passover to all our Jewish readers!

* Special for Jewish Independent Newspaper Passover Issue, March 2015. Special Thanks to J.I. Editor Synthia Ramsay.

How fast time flies. Passover is almost here again, and it’s time to prepare a new tutorial, I said to my 7-year-old daughter while getting out a magic box with colorful modeling clay.

At school, we are reading a lot about Passover right now, she said to me. When the Jewish people crossed the dessert, they had camels with them, who carried people and their belongings. Mom, can you teach me how to model a baby camel? Please, mom, can you?

Happy Passover! Passover Plasticine Frog

In anticipation of Jewish Holiday, Passover, Curly Orli and I are making a cute froggy. Historically, frogs were one of the ten plagues of Passover. Besides, frogs are believed to be the bringers of spring!!!
These days, they are happily hopping in parks and forests after long winter slumber. Now you can have one of them at home… plasticine that is 🙂
